John Giaccone received a Bachelors degree in
communication arts from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in 1992,
with a major in film and television. Relocating to Los Angeles in 1993, he
began working in the industry as a production assistant. Working freelance on
various television programs (from “made for TV” movies and commercials to The Grammy’s
and MTV Video Music Awards) in various departments where he learned the nuts
and bolts of the entertainment industry. He also studied acting in Los Angeles,
landing parts in student films, commercials and appearing as a featured extra
as a football player in "Forest Gump" and a paramedic on
"ER". John relocated to Seattle in 1998 to focus on screenwriting,
independent filmmaking and writing and performing music. His screenplays
include, "Rearview Mirror" and a horror story based on the songs of
Charlie Daniels entitled, "Full Moon". John worked as Producer,
Director and DP on his first feature, "Where We All Start". Shot on
an ultra-low budget it made the penultimate round at The Austin Film Festival
in ‘03. John also appears in the movie. When not working as an A/V Technician,
he plays guitar and sings in the band, “Johnny Splits” and enjoys biking and
skiing in the Great Northwest.
